Lin McPhillips Hi Elaine...Eddie Duran directed me to you. I'm very interested in starting a blog, and want to bypass the Web site routine, and would need your expertise. I have completed a new cd with Eddie and Mad and it will be available when all is set in place... Thanks in advance Lin.

Girl Friday Virtual Marketing Girl Friday is currently helping Alexandra Brooks set up a hosted blog on WordPress.com. It's not quite finished yet, but at least Alex is blogging NOW, which is better than doing nothing at all, right Bonky?? And...blogging is a powerful and important marketing tool that is a good fit for Alex because she's a WRITER!... Might as well use that talent to market her services!! Bingo, baby, she's good to go!! Anyway.... Alex's blog is a "hosted blog," which means that it "lives" on the WordPress server – there is no cost to have the blog there. This is different from a "self-hosted" blog – where the blog lives on your ISP's server (your Internet Service Provider) and which you pay for each month. I know I know... all that tech-talk is tres boring, isn't it?? I KNOW!!! So...you can let Girl Friday sort it out for you! THAT'S easy! In the meantime, take a look at Alex's pretty new blog!

Daphne, it was really a pleasure to meet you! Thank you for attending the workshop, and we'll email you information about the next one. Speaking of THAT, Roohi and I decided today after the class that we may have to give a One-Day Workshop in DECEMBER rather than January, because we've had so much interest. Wow, Girl Friday needs a martini just to begin preparing herself to consider thinking about the possibility of doing something like that!! Thanks again, and see you soon!! Girl Friday

I just emailed Roohi about that. I have at least three local people who could really benefit from this workshop. I asked Roohi (and am now asking you) to prepare a 8x11 inch flier for me each time you have a workshopand I will get the word out to the merchants here with our newsletter.

Girl Friday Virtual Marketing OK, I can't wait, I just have to post the answer to today's Retro Trivia question right now, 'cause it's just too gosh darn fun. So: Which famous pop music performer got his start writing commercial jingles? The Answer: Barry Manilow!! I've attached a neat You Tube video of Mr. Manilow singing a medley of his biggest c...ommercial jingle hits. I think you'll be surprised at how many CLASSICS he wrote. Many of them are not on this video, but I'll post more later. And: the original theme song ("Bandstand Boogie") for the show, "American Bandstand" was also written by Barry Manilow. I LOVE Barry Manilow!!!

I recorded the "Bathroom Bowl Blues" as a commercial for something...I guess a toilet bowl cleaner??? I can't really remember. But honest to Gosh: the microphone was set up IN the bathroom, I sang the song in there (TONS of natural reverb...it sounded great!) and at the end of the song I flushed the toilet. Jamie was the engineer!! Randy Spendlove I am PRETTY sure, created it for his father's ad agency?? OH man, ancient history indeed!!!
