Linda L. Manos We have a second year Daisy troop of six girls. These little girls sold over and beyond their goals. People were sooo caring in giving to Operation Thin Mint. I am so happy and thankful to be an American!!!

Colleen Stevens Arellano I have a question. We have too many cookies left :) While we will be doing 3 more site sales this weekend, I am also wondering if there is a way to find troops in other service units that might need cookies?

Special forum about children’s grief, Thursday, March 11, 6:30 p.m. Escondido Program Center. Girl Scouting places a high priority on providing safe spaces for girls to share their feelings with adults. Childhood bereavement specialist and licensed clinical psychologist Lori Rappaport, Ph.D. will discuss how children experience loss and fear, how to identify when they’re grieving, and how to discuss death and grieving with children. Attendees will receive a list of community resources for child safety and grief support.
Dr. Rappaport specializes in working with children, adolescents and families. She maintains a private practice, consults at Rady Children’s Hospital and volunteers as a staff psychologist with the Jenna Druck Foundation. Michael R Angeles What does everyone plan to do with their unsold cookies? My girls ordered 80% of our last years initial order and were able to sell about 80% of that. I am hearing that troops are alowed to take back unsold cookies. But, if the troop can't sell them then the troop is left "holding the bag". I can't believe that SDIC is... really going to hold troops and indiviual families financially responsible for unsold cookies! This will surely cause a financial hardship to some troops and families. SDIC will still get their money, which is probably why Cookies Now was adopted, while the rest of us are stuck with unsold cookies.

Girl Scouts, San Diego-Imperial Council How do you plan to celebrate Girl Scout Week? Our website has some great suggestions. What's your troop doing?

On March 12, 1912, Juliette Gordon Low and two other women met with 18 girls to form the first Girl Scout troop in the United States. Each year, Girl Scouts celebrate the birthday of that Girl Scout meeting for an entire week. The week in which March 12 falls is recognized as Girl Scout Week.
