Girls Circle Ceres Policy Research has been has conducting a national study related LGBT youth in the juvenile justice system. While 10% youth self-report as LGBT in the legal system, it breaks out to about 27% girls self-identifying as LGBT and about 8% boys. Girls Circles are intentionally inclusive. How are your groups respons...ive to the needs and experiences of the significant number of LGBT youth in the Girls Circle groups?

Yep! My brother suicided at 27 years old, and once more of his history came out from the therapist he'd been seeing, it seems that it was likely that he was gay. It's hard to find an issue that isn't part of my family's history!!

Pamela - wow. I'm going to see the Laramie Project at my son's school this week, about the townspeople interviewed after the murder of Matthew Shepphard. Sending love out to all youth and families suffering from homophobia, and sending out love and joy to all LGBT youth and families and allies who are lighting the path for others.
