Our 4th BBQ Beats of the summer returns for the Bank Holiday Weekend!

If you're on the lookout for BBQ treats, tip top live music and scintilating summer cocktails then Drawing Room is the place to be on Sunday 30th.

Our live performers on the day include the melodic blues of Brian Cattigan, laid-back jazz of Corner Poc...ket Groove and soul sounds of The Tracks. Hosted by Fraser Ross of The Drawing Room Sessions - our new live Thursday music night.

Plus we'll be spinning the finest cuts of indie, funk, soul and house well into the night.

All underway from noon, with live music from 2:30pm.

Drawing Room, in partnership with UNSCENE Production Company, is delighted to announce the latest in our live theatre performances with ‘Two’ by award-winning playwright Jim Cartwright on 26 Aug and 2 Sep.

Two is a sharp and touching slice of life set in a pub owned by a savagely bickering husband and wife. The play is ...a series of short vignettes that skilfully combines pathos and humour, with all fourteen characters played by two actors – Janis Marshall and Paul Kozinski. During the course of the evening assorted customers pass through, including a little boy left behind by his father - an event which triggers a movement towards a fragile reconciliation between the pub couple, as their own dark tragedy is revealed.

Two is written by award-winning playwright Jim Cartwright whose other plays are consistently performed around the world and have been translated into twenty languages. They include Road and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, upon which the film Little Voice was based.

Please join us for drinks, nibbles and good vibes this Wednesday at 7pm as we exhibit the work of another local artist - Emily Chappell and her 'Shapeshifters' collection.

Emily's style is hand drawn and fluctuates between the dreamlike and sometimes nightmarish. It is highly expressive, and streaming with hyper-real co...lours. The ideas illustrated are intuitive and primitive in style, (almost like contemporary cave paintings), focusing on our human experiences, behaviours and feelings.
