Virginia hi :) i was wondering if students were required to leave flats (i'm staying in Murano St) during winter break, or if there were other options...I don't want to have to pay for another round trip to the US only to have to fly back in January for the next semester
University of Glasgow Student Network at 4:04am June 29
Hi Virginia
You're not required to leave your flat during winter or easter break. You only need to leave when your lease is up at the start of the summer, however it's possible to extend your lease through the summer break too.
You'll find that many international students will stick around in halls over the holidays.

I've sent the application form but they didn't answer me!!!do you know what I have to do?look for a private accomodation?
University of Glasgow Student Network at 2:42am June 25
Hi Michela
Are you talking about the accommodation or your course application. If its your course then you should hear something soon but you could always phone - +44 (0) 141 330 8153
If it is accommodation then again, to put your mind at rest i would recommend phoning if you want a quick response - +44 (0)141 330 4743
If you are studying here for 4 years and live outwith the Glasgow area or the UK then you should be in a good position get a place in student accommodation.

Matthew Ward Hi! I am concerned that I may be lost during lectures because my ear is unfamiliar with Scottish accents, with the Glaswegian accent being especially worrisome. This is now the biggest deciding factor for whether I attend. If any foreigners may answer, about how much of a difficulty is it to adjust ones ear? Thanks.
University of Glasgow Student Network at 3:06am June 16
Matthew, this is something i wouldn't worry about. For a start not all of the lecturers are from Glasgow - and if they are they certainly would speak clearly enough for everyone to understand. We don't all speak like Billy Connolly up here ;-) Glasgow is a pretty international University with lecturers and students from all over the world, never mind the UK. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking?
University of Glasgow Student Network at 1:56am June 17
i think where you'll find the 'thickest' Glaswegian accents are outside of the University - certainly thats what i find. I'm from southwest scotland and found the glaswegian dialect hard at first but you soon catch on to it. Lecturers wil always try to speak as clearlya s possible and many of them (though not all) put up notes on the VLE afterwards. As i said i don't think it will be a big issue, certainly not within the University.

Ina Tsetsova Hi I have another question about SAAS. Am I supposed to bring the award letter with me when I come to Glasgow Uni? The SAAS website says they've sent me an award letter and I still haven't received it. I requested a duplicate and haven't received that as well.. So now what should I do?
