Cindy Armenta

Cindy Armenta Opinions please: 68 y/o diabetice with a foot fracture recently casted. Cast gets wet enough in the shower to cause the cast to become mushy. It is a weekend and pt lives at least an hour away from the hospital, does pt need to go into ER for cast replacement or can it wait till Monday?

68 y/o diabetic that has a wet cast has to have it replaced...Maceration can cause and allow a breakdown in the tissue...leading to a loss of the limb.

Thanks Susie, the pt is my hard headed dad who thought it would be aokay to wait til Monday. My response was why did you call dad you knew what I would say. Just wanted to make sure my emotions weren't clouding my judgment.

Salvador Benitez Recently finished preceptoring Joseph Rudolph... what an experience... it was a 2 way knowledge path and most important... HE PASSED HIS TEST. Want to thank linda for all her help during the process and to tell everyone that becoming a preceptor is not only to pass on our knowledge but to learn.
