This is the third annual "summer kick off cruise," and organizer Troy Simoes wants to spread the word about the cruise with a cause — helping to raise money for the local animal shelter.

Joanna Bowen This is Jasmine (formally know as Marissa) She is an absolute nut and we love her to death!

Danielle Littig I moved to Rockport and my landlords wouldn't let me get a dog (grew up with dogs), so I "settled" for a cat, but quickly came to love him more than any of the dogs I ever had. I was a shelter volunteer at the time, and my Spike picked me out and was adopted in 2004. He was the only cat for about a year, until we moved back home. He was so good that my parents (complete dog people) became cat people, and we adopted Sandy from a nearby shelter. Then we started fostering litters (3 so far), and between my parents, myself, and my sister, adopted 7 more. Spike was so good with the little foster kittens- there was never any worry about him being too rough with them or anything. Unfortunately, last June he passed away on the way to the vets from an undiagnosed heart condition. It's still very painful, but I am so grateful to CAAA for bringing him into my life, because now I have two other great cats.
Danielle at 1:09pm June 10
PS: Forgot to mention how he'd always come greet me at the door when I got home from work (without treats- now I have to bribe the others with treats to come greet me) and keep me company when I was sick. Best cat ever. ♥

Maggie M Glaser We were so sad to miss the reunion! Wynnie (Bebe) was adopted 10/29/04, she is the light of my life! She loves going for walks, running on the beach, and above all snuggling! Thank you for everything!!!

Kim We didn't make it this weekend, but Max (aka Cremoso - adopted 5/3/09) is doing just great. He sleeps on our bed every night.

Cape Ann Animal Aid We love seeing photos of CAAA alums! Feel free to post your photos and updates to our facebook wall!

Colleen Welch Pedey (Pety): adopted 3/15/09....doing great and loving life!!

Collette My coworker adopted "Oprah," a Pomeranian puppy a few months ago. I went on your site and I can't get "Toby" the Toy Poodle out of my mind! Does Toby like cats? I have a 15ish year old mellow cat who has lived with 2 Bichons (one at a time). What is your policy re: placement of a dog into a home with a cat?
Cape Ann Animal Aid at 12:09pm June 10
Hi Collette! Tell Oprah and her adopter we said hello! As for Toby--Unfortunately we don't know how Toby reacts to cats. I encourage you to visit our shelter and meet Toby and talk further with our kennel and adoption staff.

Leanne Maloney Burnett My name is Smokey, and I was adopted from CAAA on 1/20/08 - I love my family and I'm just the happiest cat I know! :)
