
GoDuke The Magazine Highlights from the final football game of 2009: QB Thad Lewis becomes just the second player in ACC history to pass for over 10,000 yards in a career (joining NCSU's Philip Rivers); WR Donovan Varner becomes just the third Duke player to go over 1,000 receiving yards in a season (joining Wes Chesson and Clarkston Hine...s); Varner, Conner Vernon and Austin Kelly all finish with over 50 catches, the first time Duke has had three players over that mark in one year; Will Snyderwine hits his 16th and 17th field goals of the year, setting the school record for most FGs in one season; and Desmond Scott ends the year as the eighth true freshman to lead the Devils in rushing... but Duke falls to Wake Forest 45-34 to end the campaign with a 5-7 record.

GoDuke The Magazine Record-setting QB Thaddeus Lewis and the rest of Duke's small senior class of football players will close out their careers on Saturday Nov. 28 in a 12 noon contest vs. Wake Forest. Lewis owns 48 Duke records, including the career passing yardage mark that he set in game 11 at Miami. A couple of weeks after the Wake ga...me, he will finish his Duke degree in 3.5 years.
