Goodwill NCW Those of us who are fortunate to be members of the Goodwill family know that this is a terrific place to work. And now, so do the hundreds of businesses and organizations throughout the New North region. On Dec. 8, our Goodwill was one of three recipients of the first New North Workplace Excellence Award, which was p...resented during the New North Summit in Green Bay. The other winners were Miles Kimball Company in Oshkosh and McCain Foods USA Inc. in Appleton. Cosponsored by Right Management in Appleton, the award recognizes organizations that improve their competitive advantage through people practices that lead to successful business results received for this award, and six were named as finalists. In announcing the winners, Raab cited Goodwill for “the transformation of its culture and for always ‘Putting People First.’” We can be proud of our Goodwill for receiving this New North award and of our contributions to making this such a caring and successful workplace!
Goodwill NCW This year's fund-raising campaign for the new Miracle League baseball field has caught the imagination of many generous donors and volunteers. Some of the most heartwarming stories are those of the kids who have enthusiastically participated in car washes, brat frys and other Miracle League fund-raising events becaus...e of their desire to help siblings, cousins or school friends “play ball.” Here's a recent example of a dedicated little girl who asked friends attending her birthday party to make gifts to the Miracle League, rather than bringing presents for her. We hope it brightens your day and encourages your giving spirit.

Goodwill NCW It was a half hour before the official selling time, and people were itching to get first dibs on the one-of-a-kind Goods Made Good merchandise that was being sold during the Oct. 11 trunk show at Harmony Café in Appleton. The racks were set and the clothing hung in anticipation as the Goods crew eagerly paced the floo...r, waiting for the first customer to arrive. Minutes later, 11 customers poured through the doors of Harmony Café and flooded the selling area. The temperature rose, and there was great excitement in the air. Customers snatched up the one-of-a-kind items; the dressing room was continually full; and there was nothing but fantastic comments and smiles coming from all. The Goods crew stood in awe as they watched the line at the cash register grow and, when all was said and done, the goals that had been set for the trunk show were exceeded. Goodwill can now add fashion designer to its impressive resume! Stay tuned for further Goodwill fashion updates.

Goodwill NCW As part of Money Smart Week, a fashion show featuring Goodwill apparel was held at Harmony Cafe, Green Bay. Goodwill put together a fashion show to highlight clothing at very reasonable prices. The Green Bay West store, Harmony Café, FISC, University of Wisconsin Brown County Extension, Fantastic Sams Hair Salons, and ...GoodMoney & Prospera Credit Union, came together to make this happen.

The Miracle League of the Fox Valley is a non- competitive organized baseball league for children aged 4-19 with physical and/or mental disabilities. The athletes will play on a custom designed, rubberized field at Appleton Memorial Park. To provide assistance and en...couragement to the athletes, the Miracle League uses a "buddy" system. Each player will head out to the field with an able bodied peer. This partnership will benefit both the player and the buddy - they'll share the love of baseball and most importantly, create a lasting friendship.
