As some of you may be aware, TuftsCCM is launching a new interdisciplinary Master of Science in Conservation Medicine (MCM) program. We have been very pleased by the interest this program has already received and know some of you have been waiting for updated information. We have now set the date for the MCM program to... officially begin in the Fall of 2011, with applications available in June 2010. Further information will be posted on our website as it is available:
http://www.tufts.edu/vet/mcm/
The great news is that Tufts University will be participating as part of a multidisciplinary team in a new USAID initiative to combat Emerging Pandemic Threats largely focusing on zoonotic diseases arising from increased interactions between people, livestock and wildlife. Conservation medicine plays an important role in this initiative and our faculty are significantly involved in the Tufts effort led by principal investigator Robyn G. Alders, BVSc, PhD, and Co-Principal Investigator Joann M. Lindenmayer, DVM, MPH. Our involvement in the program will further strengthen Tufts’ international, governmental and professional connections and academic training opportunities for students in our MS in Conservation Medicine, DVM and PhD programs.
