My cat didn't come home for five days, so I went to the humane society to look for him. (Education reporter Sylvia Dana talking). I was shocked by the number of animals there and empathetic with one of the staff members who had taken seven animals into her office to save them from euthanization. So...I'm getting ready ...to do a series of stories on homeless animals....the pet population problem and how people can address it. This is a photo of "Molly", a foster dog waiting to be adopted. She's under the care of Katie Smith, a 19-year-old who's been fostering animals for the last year.Read More

Even though the election is not over at 9:40 pm, it does not look good for McCain. I wonder how the votes would have gone if he had chosen Mitt Romney, or anyone other than Palin?
