That can be done. Add flakes, some hot water, agitate a minute or so, stop, put in clothes, add more water, continue with regular cycle.

Making sure the soap is fully dissolved *before* putting it into the machine can be faster and easier as you can clearly see what is going on with the mix. Then too, people use different water temperatures and ... See Morewhile ~100 F degrees is best, other temps are ok. But flakes don't dissolve in cold water as well as in hot. Handling this outside the machine is easier. Kind of a common ground method that covers many issues.
