***TONIGHT'S HARVEST MOON WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELED due to weather conditions. We hope you got to visit one of our observing sites on Wednesday night. Expect to see another event like this in the spring, but until then, please learn about and enjoy the wonders of the night sky in the Chaffee Planetarium, at the Veen Ob...servatory, and from your own backyard.***
Weather permitting, members of the Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association, local amateur astronomers, and Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium staff members will set up high-powered telescopes in convenient spots throughout the community between 7:30 and 9:30 pm, and invite passers-by to look through a telescope just as Galileo first did four centuries ago. Viewing is free.

9 pm WISH YOU WERE HERE – Welcome to the machine! The band’s tribute to their former band member, the now deceased Syd Barrett, joins the Chaffee line-up with an array of breathtaking effects. Shine on you crazy diamond!
10 pm THE WALL – So ya, thought ya, might like to go to the show? A selection of songs from Pink Floyd’s dramatic rock opera follows fictional rocker Pink Floyd, reliving his life as he sits catatonic in a hotel room. Join us at the Chaffee and help tear down the Wall.
