Sabriel Trilogy by Garth Nix

Although this is a teen book it is fascinating. If you like pure fantasy then this is a book for you. It is not hard to follow, not much politics to remember, but it has great magic and battles.

OMG I loved this booked. I hated to put it down!!!!! I would recommend this book to anyone....yes it is thick, 600-700 pages, but easy to hook into and just want to find the time to curl up and read.
