On Saturday, March 13, Lorraine Ranalli will travel north for a gravy competition rematch with North Jersey Chef/Columnist Johnny DeCarlo. In honor (or defiance) of this widely celebrated St. Patrick's Day Weekend, the two will face off not once but twice at Chef Central locations in Paramus, New Jersey (11:00 AM) and ...Hartsdale, New York (2:00 PM).
Lorraine and Johnny will entertain with tales of growing up Italian-American. Each will demonstrate making meatballs as the gracious Chef Central staff serves samples.
You'll have an opportunity to cast your vote for the best gravy and meatballs as you mingle and get pictures with both guest chefs.
Lorraine will sign copies of "Gravy Wars, South Philly Foods, Feuds & Attytudes," and she'll make available samples of her Irish Potatoes.

I love those Italians and their gravy.
Ron Clancy

Nancy Louise In my Sicillian/Calabrese family, the difference between gravy and sauce is lots of meats and about 3 hours simmering time. It's always been called "Gravy" because we always put in veal, beef and pork meatballs, hot and sweet sausage and bracioli.
