If I were a neocon I would hope that any drug law reform talk never sees the light of day. If I were a neocon I would want people to live in ignorance about hemp, pot, and allows us to spend the incredible amount of money we waste on the war on drugs.

Part of what makes the Green Party my party of choice is because we are not afraid to discuss the issues the other parties won't.

I'm sorry but I am fairly certain I can handle any discipline related to pot smoking without the help of the local police department.

Phil - I think Sharief's point is that once those reforms are in place and Greens hold office office, there's nothing except their constituents and own morality to keep them honest.

I don't know if Michele Bachmann (R-MN) comes up for re-election in 2010, but if she does I'd love to see a Green candidate take her seat.

Every other small party in every other country has started by running for small seats. This is what Nader should have done in 2000. Then the greens would be a lot bigger right now.

I call them the 'corporate-sponsored parties'. The problem I see with 'advertised parties' is that it means Greens can never advertise, or we'll be seen as hypocritical. However, we'll never take corporate money, and if we did we would rightly be seen as hypocrites. So 'corporate-sponsored parties' clearly highlights what sets us apart from them, ... When the discussion is about "major" vs "minor" parties, I use the terms 'establishment parties' and 'independent parties'.

Framing is really important. Every Green convention should have a workshop on framing (it's nice that you can basically learn all the lessons of Lakoff's 'don't think of an elephant' in 45 minutes).

Although rural PA is lacking in Green candidates, I voted greenly by walking to the polls :)

Join the general strike for healthcare reform on Monday, Nov. 16th. Stay home or picket, but make your voice heard.

Since Thompson is going to lose, voting yes to political diversity is the only way to vote for democracy. Anything else is a waste.
