Discussion Please... In the past several weeks we have had three previously adopted dogs returned because the owners could not afford veterinary care. One was "hit by car", another was severe bladder stones causing peeing (featured pic), and the last was a GI obstruction because the dog ate a blanket. It is in our c...ontract that veterinary care in emergencies and sickness are part of adoption. We are paying for the emergency care and placing the dogs for re-adoption. Your thoughts on this issue? The sad element of sheltering is the selection of animals by adopters. There are the ones that always get "passed over". They are either too old, too large, too energetic, or too something.
