All members are invited to join us for a continental breakfast to learn firsthand about the organization's activities over the last year. The Conservationist of the Year Award will be announced at this time. Take this opportunity to meet with members of the board to discuss past and future projects.
This year we are del...ighted to have Conservancy members Tracey and Roger Gaudette of Island Gold join us for the meeting. They will discuss their beekeeping activities on Grosse Ile, honey production and the decline of the honeybees.

Grosse Ile Nature & Land Conservancy These are a little old but decided to post anyway. Event was held April 19th and included a presentation on reptiles, a living butterfly and moth exhibit, outdoor nature games, and an interpretive trail walk.
Grosse Ile Nature & Land Conservancy The recent issue of the Great Lakes Echo includes a documentary by Mary Hansen, an environmental journalism student at MSU. She visited Grosse Ile a few times this spring for interviews and came to our Earth Day Celebration at Centennial Farm. Click on the YouTube link about halfway down the page to watch it.

Grosse Ile Nature & Land Conservancy
The Conservancy needs your help to plant bushes and trees around Intrepid Pond located at the Airport Commerce Park. Over the last year we've removed invasive species like phragmites & milfoil from the pond. Now we're ready to start plant native species in and around the pond to help filter the drainage waters that pa...ss through the pond and to increase the biodiversity of the ecosystem.
Bring work gloves, planting tools like shovels and metal rakes, wheelbarrows and other supplies you think will come in handy. Bring a friend if you can.
Wear some work boots or sturdy shoes, sunblock and/or a hat and clothes you don't mind getting dirty!
Volunteers are needed starting at 10AM. We'll work until the job gets done. Looking forward to seeing you there.
