- Group B Strep Support is the UK charity dedicated to preventing life-threatening group B Strep infection in newborn babies.
GBSS was formed in 1996, with 3 members and 1 medical adviser. Within a few months, we had a respected medical advisory panel, comprising 3 experts in their fields and a dozen members - 13 years on, there are around 500 members, 6 Executive Committee members and the charity had an annual turnover of around £100,000.
GBSS can only provide information, not advice. - Mission:
- Our three main aims are to:
- Offer information and support to families affected by group B Streptococcus.
- Inform health professionals and individuals how most group B Strep infections in newborn babies can be prevented.
- Generate continued support for research into preventing group B Strep infections in newborn babies. - Products:
