Growing Home is very sad to hear of the death of our long-time friend and Board member, Kaaren Plant. Kaaren was very committed to social justice, through her professional work with juveniles and the justice system, and through her volunteer work with Growing Home. She helped the organization grow through her efforts with our Annual Benefit and our fundraising committee. We know that she was very proud of the accomplishments of Growing Home.

Kaaren was also very committed to organic agriculture. She was always pleased to share with us news of her daughter and son-in-law's organic farming efforts in North Carolina.

Kaaren will be sorely missed by all of us.
