Guardians of the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging
Founded in 2000, the annual Walk of Ages is a family-oriented event that raises much-needed funds for the Jewish Home. Walkers and runners of all ages collect donations from sponsors for this fun event. The throngs of participants include infants and toddlers in strollers, elderly Jewish Home senior residents and every...thing in between. In some cases, entire families run or walk together and many of the event sponsors also send teams. All participants are urged to obtain donations, form teams and check with their employers to see if a Matching Gifts Program is in place to maximize the dollars raised in support of the hundreds of seniors in need who are cared for by the Jewish Home.
All participants receive top quality t-shirts and medals are awarded to all children and seniors who finish the course, as well as to the top competitive finishers in all age divisions. Opportunities to become involved with the Walk of Ages X include joining the planning committee, creating a team or just coming out to walk, run or cheer on the participants at one of the largest 5k walk/runs in our city.

This is the Young Men’s Division's monthly meeting where we discuss and plan upcoming events, brainstorm new ideas and hang out.
The highlight of this meeting will be installing the 2010 board. Additionally, we will be discussing the December 24th "The Ball" event and March Madness Poker.
If you haven't been to a meetin...g, they are great places to meet other actively involved members, learn more about the organization, and explore getting more involved. You do not need to be a paid/active member to attend a meeting. In fact, we encourage people to check at least 1 meeting and 1 event out before committing to joining so that you can see what you think.
Dinner is served and a friendly game of poker will follow if you want to stick around.

The Young Women's Division of the Guardians is hosting a fun, free to attend, women only event at the Blue Jeans Bar in Santa Monica. The store is closing down to the public for the night for a private shopping party for the YWD. it... is offering wine and cheese to attendees and will have some jeans specialists on hand to give attendees advice. They will also be giving a 10% discount off any purchases and they will give 10% of all proceeds to the Guardians.
The BLUES JEAN BAR is modeled after a neighborhood pub. Down the bar sits over 20 brands of designer denim and behind the bar rests endless stacks of blues piled on wooden shelves. The Blues Jean "bartenders" can serve up and expertly fit you with your perfect pair.
