
Springbrook Conservation Education Center Just returned from a chilly lunchtime hike and round of camouflage with a couple of does. Snowflakes swirled as a red tail shrieked and circled the prairie. Ice is just beginning to form around the edges of the ponds. Most everything seems to be at rest, but is it? Springbrook Conservation Education Center Excitement is building for the Mentored Outdoor Experience that will begin this Friday! 26 inexperienced hunters will have the opportunity to learn about deer hunting from experts, and then hunt for their first deer under the guidance of mentors. Intrepid Outdoors, a national film company, and Honey Creek Outdoors, an...d Iowa film company, will be here filming the entire weekend!

Springbrook Conservation Education Center Fall has been full of adventure here at Springbrook! Students have followed orienteering courses through the colorful woods, collecting burs along the way and learning about seed dispersal. They have maneuvered kayaks across the chilly lake, monitored the small mammal population, and participated in ongoing research wi...th bird banding and monarch tagging. 3 year olds have gazed in wide-eyed amazement as they held their very first frog. Follow our adventures as we head into November, with scouts, Science Bound, school groups and quilters!

Springbrook Conservation Education Center We are all set for the Fly Tying and Fishing Outdoor Experience this weekend at Springbrook! Participants from all across the state, as well as from Nebraska and Kansas will meet here Saturday for a weekend workshop filled with opportunities to learn about fly tying and fly fishing, create a wide variety of fishing fl...ies, and test them out on the nearby Raccoon River... Can't wait to see how everything turns out!
