Thanks Gyrobike - I'm in full support of the 20" wheel like Cathy. My 9 year old daughter has a mild paralysis on her left side, and riding a bike is a challenge.

From what Gyrobike said, it appears as though the Gyrowheel acts just like a regular bike wheel when it's powered off, so I would assume the child could just continue to ride the bike with the Gyrowheel (just powered off) after they have mastered riding. He or she might even prefer it because it has the fun design in the interior. I think that's a great investment in the child's safety as well as for the parents in the short AND long run.

I hope to get one of the 16" wheels when they are available and plan on it being something I keep around and use for other children of my own when they get bigger or as a gift to my sister's kids when they are big enough for it.
