In celebration of Hip-Hop Ourstory Month, HABESHA presents its African
Film Showcase for the month of November, "Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats and
Rhymes. Sparking dialogue on hip-hop and its declarations on gender,
Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes expores such pressing issues as women
and violence in rap music, representations of... manhood in hip-hop
culture, and what today's rap lyrics reveal to their listeners.

Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes will be shown Friday November 20th at 7pm
at the Georgia State University College of Education Building, Room
150, located at 30 Pryor St. in Downtown Atlanta. THIS IS A FREE FAMILY
EVENT. There will be food, drinks, arts and crafts, and special guest
performances from local artist, as well as a "Hip Hop DJ Showdown"
between some of Atlanat's best DJ's, you don't want to miss it! For

eye-opening documentary film called "FRESH". FRESH celebrates the farmers, activist, and business people acroos America who are re-inventing our food system. FR...ESH
will be shown on Saturday, October 24th at the HABESHA Gardens,
located at 477 Windsor... St. Atlanta, GA 30312 (the site of the Organic
Fest, in the garden on the side of the Dunbar Neighborhood Center).
THIS IS A FREE FAMILY EVENT.

There will be live entertainment,
music , and discussion form local farmers in the Atlanta
area. There will be food & drinks with ingredients from the garden
available, as well as a marketplace. Additonally, there will also be
testimony from the youth of HABESHA who recently returned from a
life-changing journey to Ghana, West Africa as a part of the Black To
Our Roots Program. Before the film screening there will children
activities that will take place from 3-5pm, and an organic gardening
