I'm thinking of "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabathacthani" (my spelling might be off there)...As you've said, God manifested in the Trinitiy has always existed in community and union, but in order to reconcile ... Read Moreus to God (thereby establishing the basis of our communion, or community, with Him), part of what Jesus had to go through was complete isolation from God the Father. That is a HUGE sacrifice on His part, given His communal nature. And He underwent that hell for us. What amazing love!!!!!!

Yes, Brent - that is EXACTLY what Christ went through. How awful and terrible a sacrifice for us. Our response should be complete service and gratitude. It is beyond our comprehension.

Read Moremaking sure we pronounced Jean Vanier's name with the correct french Canadian pronouncement, which I would do incorrectly on purpose to tease her. So, when I couldn't find her at the airport, I had them page "Mr. Gene Va-Neer".
