My thoughts and prayers are with you, Lindsey, E, your neighbors, your community, Louisville, and everyone who is touched by these senseless tragedies.
Crime has increased across Kentucky and the U.S. but is more visible in neighborhoods of low income persons. I am wondering about having a really good free mental health clinic devoid of ... Read Morethe stigma of being just for poor people. Crack addictions or murder or physical abuse or some other heinous acts occur in all neighborhoods but are magnified in poor neighborhoods where the residents have no shelter from the scrutiny of the media and little or no access to mental health professionals.
Do you know about angelfoodministries.com ? They are a food pantry of sorts for everyone. For April, one can get a big box of restaurant-quality meat for $30. And there is a vegie box for $22, nice amounts. There areno income qualifications. In fact, Angel Food Ministries hopes that everyone will see the benefits of their offerings. Donna

Deplorable, but I think it was right of you to stand up for those kids. Most of the time in our daily lives when we see discrimination like that, we just accept it (usually with a line like, "What can you do? We live in Kentucky,") and go about our business. That is NOT the Jesus way, though.


Come celebrate the birth of Jesus with the homeless and other folks who care about the poor.
