The town of Hackettstown will be hosting a public information forum at 7pm on November 17th in the Cafeteria of Hackettstown High School.
The town has received a grant in the amount of $631,000 dollars from the New Jersey Department of Transportation through their Transportation Enhancement Program to help fund this imp...rovement project.
The forum is being held to discuss the plans for sidewalk and streetscape improvement on Main Street between Valentine St. and Plane St. Included in these improvements will be curbing, sidewalks, driveways, handicap ramps, street trees, decorative pedestrian lighting, and restoration.

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID) is excited to announce our final event of the year... The Hackettstown Hometown Holiday Event on December 4, 2009 from 7pm - Midnight.
This is an opportunity to welcome shoppers into Hackettstown and to officially kick-off the 2009 Holiday Shopping Season.
Here is som...e of the programming that will be taking place:
Hometown Holiday Performances @ 7:00pm: The Colonial Musketeers, Hackettstown Community Band, Hackettstown High School Cheerleaders, Hackettstown High School Chorus, and other area bands and groups, will be performing in front of stores along Main Street.
Santa Arrives @ 8:00pm: Santa will be arriving to Main Street on his sleigh to all those lining the sidewalks of main street. He will land his sleigh on Main Street and make his way up to the Gazebo. Please gathering on the sidewalks along Main Street between Center & High Streets.
Tree Lighting & Pictures with Santa @ 8:15pm: Once Santa arrives at the Gazebo, Santa will be on hand with the Mayor to light the Tree and officially kick off the Holiday Shopping Season. Free professional pictures with Santa will be provided by our local photography studio, Heart & Sohl Photography, at the Moore Street Firehouse. Light refreshments will be provided by the Kiwanis Club of Hackettstown and Harpers Bagel & Bake Shop.
Shop Till Midnight: In an effort to show that Hackettstown is "open for business" this holiday season, the BID is once again promoting a "Shop ‘til Midnight" initiative," Businesses will be staying open late on December 4th and many of them will be open till Midnight to offer incremental discounts each hour. Its your chance at great savings... upwards of 50% off!!!

The event is November 16, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Trinity Church UMC.
