Hapgood Theatre Company
The Hapgood will kick off its third with a bang, staging one of the most beloved comedies ever written for the American stage. The story of two men, newly divorced, good friends, but with extremely different habits and tastes. An innocent card game quickly deteriorates into a disastrous plan for cohabitation that bri...ngs on smashed dishes, feared suicide attempts, and leggy blondes. According to the New York Times, “there is scarcely a moment that is not hilarious!” This playwright graced the Hapgood stage during the Company’s debut season with Rumors - the production that is still the theatre’s biggest hit to date.
The Odd Couple plays at the Hapgood, October 16 - November 1, 2009. Press night is Friday, October 16, 2009 at 8pm. Tickets are available by calling the box office at 925.757.9500 or at www.hapgoodtheatre.org.

Our "Plays in Preview" program brings you together with the show director, actors and fellow patrons to discuss each play's themes, concept, and production history before seeing the Hapgood production. The story of Norman and Ethel Thayer, characters immortalized on the screen by Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn, has captured the hearts of theatre-goers of all ages since its initial production off-Broadway in 1979.
