Kim Harvey My family says I'm absolutely obsessed with HL! I was going through a tough time this past August and feeling sad. I just happened to be channel surfing and landed on TCM. They were playing a HL marathon and I caught the end of "Hot Water" and couldn't stop laughing. Needless to say, I was hooked from then on out and c...redit HL for making me laugh in time of sadness. I will be forever grateful to him for that. So yes, I am a forever fan. I had never heard of him before that, and I was not especially a fan of silent film. Now I can't get enough of either!!! I am getting Annette's new book (Horn-rimmed Glasses) tomorrow in the mail. I can't wait to devour it!!!!!

Lionel Houde I used to watch Harold every Saturday, the show added organ music and at least once a week the show's host would let loose with a "Poor Harold!" over something he did.

Annette D'Agostino Lloyd It is SO wonderful to see so many HL fans! I am grateful to each of you ... and hope that you'll always stay in Harold's corner. He would have been thrilled, I'm certain, to have so many Facebook friends! Please - if we are not yet "Friends" on FB, find me, and let's stay in touch. That is the only way I can keep my wo...rk on HL geared towards his fans ... see you soon, and Why Worry about 2010? Never Weaken, with HL! Love, Annette

Matt Smith Timeless !!!

Graham i re-discovered HL last year on a blog and have since collected lots of the films....my 5 year old son loves him and we often sit and watch HL, keaton and laurel and hardy for hours . . :)

Red Tango ...and along with the pic was this Christmas tag, made out from Harold to his actor/assistant friend Roy Brooks (aka Pudgie, who is also in the pic) I just recently contacted the Lloyd estate to help identify who were all the names on the tag??? They were very kind to send back a quick reply...those were Harold's dogs!...! Not a bad find for 25 bucks. All the more special now that finally...after how long? I've been watching his movies and really enjoying them.

Red Tango Since XMas is right around the corner this is probably the best time to trot this stuff out- but I think I'm going to have to post them one at a time (only one photo per post it looks like) Here's the pic, I found this framed like ten years ago..from "High and Dizzy"...I bought it back then not really knowing anything ...about Lloyd, but I loved the attitude..

Abby Birnbryer I like Lloyd more than Chaplin, maybe I'ts just me. When I first saw him I could not stop laughing. He was a true artist.

Frank Thanks Brad, for making me aware there are other people as twisted about silent films as I am. Glad to be a fan here. Harold Lloyd is a favorite -- especially his silents. He handled dialog just fine, but in comparison with his superb silents, the words just get in the way.

Gabielle I like his silent films better than he talking films. maybe cuz the first few films i saw him in were silent. if i hadn't taken that film history course, would've never known who he was.

You can save it if you want. No problemo.

Erin Hogan I first heard about Harold Lloyd about 9 years ago not long after I discovered Chaplin and Keaton - trouble is its taken almost that long for any of this films to be released in Australia. I FINALLY managed to get a copy of the 9 disc Definitive Collection - and i'm absolutely LOVING it!!! He's hilarious! So far I've s...een The Freshman and Grandma's Boy - plus two shorts Eastern Westener and Haunted Spooks. The films are as great as I had read they would be! Can't wait to see Safety Last - iconicness!

Michael not my creation, just thought it was cool.

Just a bunch of scenes from different films starring Harold Lloyd :D You can try guessing which ones they are from Music from "Mess" - Ben Folds Five (starting sentence is from one of his talkies "The Cat's Paw")
