Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers Kudos to the PSPE members who run MATHCOUNTS. The Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers has been selected to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Math Education Award from the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The Awards committee recognizes the support PSPE has given to MATHCOUNTS for many years. MATHCOUNTS, in turn, has promoted excellence in mathematics for students throughout the state.

Congratulations to all who give their time. I know the personal satisfaction I get from participating. I am in awe of the students and their ability to answer questions before we can read them! Kudos to the coaches as well. MATHCOUNTS competitions will be starting in February - considering giving a couples hours of your time to assist in this worthy program!

Francis Stanton With continuing education for professional engineers in the near future, we are looking for program topics that would interest you. Any suggestions for topics?
Would you like PSPE to provide in-house training to your engineering firm?

The sky is the limit! We have so many members who could provide a program that would be of professional interest. I encourage everyone to consider not only providing feedback to Frank regarding topics but also to actually develop programs in areas in which your expertise can be shared with other PEs so that these programs can be included in future conferences, state board meetings, regional meetings, etc. Regards from St. Louis and the NSPE Annual Meeting.

Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers Staff attended a thought provoking session on ethics today. One point of discussion explored where do ethics start? With the company or the individual? Does your company have a value statement? Do you have a personal value statement?

I work for a global manufacturing company which has a corporate ethics policy -worldwide. It must be difficult maintaining strong ethics across the broad spectrum of North & South America, China, and Europe (East & West). I must complete annual online training. I do not have a personal value statement other than job performance goals.
