Head First imported a note.

I am often asked how I first got started in programming. Recently, I was interviewed by Girls Gone Geek, a weekly podcast on technology from a women's perspective, and they asked if I got started by creating web sites. The Girls clearly have no idea how old I am!

Your Brain: The Missing Manual (order it from O'Reilly / Read it online at Safari) recently came out from O'Reilly Media, and there's tons of great stuff in there. Since we're all about learning theory at Head First, this stuff is right up our alley.

Head Frist series

Head First Books are the latest, most powerful I’ve seen in learning experience. Combining not only a friendly spoken language but also professionalism and motivating activities, Head First is a new revolution! No more boring, complicated books to understand a discipline (and next, a science). Knowledge must be didactic, enjoyable, and progressive.

Frequently, I hear students say “This is not for me… That book is for a more experienced man!” Those students are frustrated because they know that a topic is important for their life, but unfortunately knowledge explained in a technical way, is simply unreachable.

Thanks to the metacognition techniques applied in the Head First books, trust me, learning can be different. And even better, Head First seeds the need to know more…Definitively, with them nobody can’t say “I surrender”.

Head First Java

This book got me into OOP and the Java programming language. For me, it is a sin to deny its quality as a learning tool. It is so engaging, even today after two years of reading the book, I can still remember the content and the way it is laid out. Totally recommended.
I love Head First...

Head First Facebook site

"Just bring your brain?" Headlines and mindless slogans are not the same thing. Your site here gives visitors no clue what your about. I came from your newsletter....same problem...to here and learned nothing. Tyr talking to outsiders instead of insider chatter.
