Shelle I just discovered this group and joined! I'm so impressed and look forward to making and sending some squares as soon as I find out the details on what size and where to send them. I have tears in my eyes after reading all the posts..... can't wait to be a part of this and share my love and gratitude for all the soldiers and their families, and anyone else needing some love and comfort. :D

Kim Guzman Edith Smith asked that I post this in the group. I've re-written the pattern after it being available for 10 years. Hopefully, it will make it even easier to follow. If anyone has any questions about it, please let me know. Enjoy!

Heartmade Blessings There is a lovely article about Heartmade Blessings in the Nov/Dec. issue of Crochet Today. It was written by HMB member and noted designer Drew Emborski and is on page 10 of the magazine now available at stores that sell magazines.

Tricia Stawovy Absolutely WONDERFUL organization. I am so proud to have been associated with this organization for some time now. So happy to see them on Facebook! GOD BLESS!!

Marjorie Knight Isn't it wonderful to know how much they are appreciated

Jo-Anne McLaren We received a beautiful red and while afghan a little while back. I want to thank all who put their caring into it. It is an incredible tribute to our son Mark who was killed in Afghanistan in December 2008. I didn't know there was a facebook site or I would have written sooner. I think what you're doing is incredible! Thank you again from Alan and I...we really appreciate the comfort!

Yvette McElroy how do I go about requesting a afghan for a friend who recently lost her husband of 27 years? yvette31@hotmail.com

Molly Shetrone this is such a wonderful group and I think it's awesome to honor people, past and present, in such a "comforting" way to the families!!

Carol S Dawson I love this group and am a member. I also am so sorry I haven't been very active in the past couple of years but am looking forward to get started again soon.

Debora Grover I would love to make some squares....where would I send the squares, what size squares etc.

I would like to thank all of you for the wonderful confortghan I received today in memory of my daddy. I'm with the North Texas PGR so I was overwhelmed to see the wonderful PGR colors and the American Flag on the comfortghan. Thanks to y'all, I'll be hugging my daddy for years to come. I love you all.

Susan Doskocil Hicks Our family received one of the Purple Heart Comfortghans. It was beautifully made and obvious that a lot of time, talent and love went into making it. I would just like to thank all of you for honoring my son and all of our fallen by making these afghans for the Gold Star families.

Heartmade Blessings Periodically I do a count on the number of afghans we have sent. As of today, we have sent a total of 6,114 afghans (comfortghans) with 1,565 of these being Operation Purple Heart afghans (afghans to the families of the fallen in Iraq and Afghanistan).
