Thanks for your suggestion. Australia is the largest island on planet Earth with an area of about 7.7 million square kilometers and a population of over 20 million people. It is also as far away from UK as one can get. Steve does not know where Savanah is.
To just fly over there and start looking around would be a little optimistic, not to mention enormously expensive. Steve does not have an endless supply of money.
The idea of this campaign is to spread the video so that either Savanah herself will one day see it or someone who knows where she is will see it and tell Steve. Once he has a rough idea where Savanah is, then he can think about going to Australia to see her. But without that information, simply turning up and having a look round would be rather futile.

Thanks for your question, Cynthia. Unfortuntely, it is very easy for manipulative parents to convince young children of things that are not true. Savanah's mother very probably has told her that her dad and his family (who by the way live in the UK) do not want contact with her any more. Her mother could also be making sure she does not have the money or the chance to visit a post office. This would be pretty easy for a parent of a 9 year old, particularly if they are a reasonably long way from the nearest one. Our campaign is to make sure that Savanah finds out that her paternal family definitely do still want contact with her.
It is not certain that she is in Australia, but that is the most likely given the information which Steve has. However, Fiona Gray has shown she has no qualms about being deceptive, so we can't be sure about it.

Without it, it would be a pretty hopeless endeavour.

The current update is that Steve still does not know where his daughter is. Believe me, if he finds her, I am sure he will be the first to shout it from the roof tops.
It is therefore imperative that we keep trying to spread Steve's video by inviting people to join this group or sending them a link to the website.
We have nearly 10,000 members now, but it is not enough. We need a million, maybe more. That may sound like a tall order, but it is not impossible.

It kind of saddens me to know what people are willing to spend their time on.

It is really important that we keep spreading the video, keep inviting people to the group and sending the web address to friends so that Savanah or someone who knows where she is will one day see it.
I'm afraid there isn't time to detail what is going on on a daily basis. It may also not be a good idea to make it public if we do have any good leads, as it could tip off Savanah's mother and cause her to hide somewhere else.
The blunt news is: Steve still does not know where his daughter is. We must therefore continue the campaign and continue spreading the word until he does.

Thanks for your view. When something happens with which they disagree, some people 'just accept it'. Many people do, in fact. The brave and the strong try to do something about it. We do NOT have to just accept things that are wrong.
As for going to Australia and searching for her, how would you pay for that? Where would you start searching on the biggest island on Planet Earth? The video campaign is to find out where in Australia Savanah is so Steve knows where to look.

Thanks for the tip. Savanah has not been abducted. Steve fought in court and begged the courts not to take Savanah out of the country, but he lost the battle. From talking to other people in Canada, it seems that the court system is much more even handed. In the UK mothers are still strongly favoured, even if the father is loving and responsible, and the mother is not.
Savanah's mother did promise in court to let Savanah keep regular contact with her father and his family. She broke this promise and cut contact completely. However, she has not committed any criminal offense. It is difficult to persuade the courts in the UK to enforce contact orders when both parents remain here. Irresponsible mothers often flout them. Put a barrier of 9,000 miles between the court jurisdiction and the person who has ignored it and I'm afraid there is little chance of the court doing anything about it.
Steve has to fight this himself. He is brave and strong and is doing just that.

We don't know when people have logged on. I trust in people's pledge to help the event by spreading the video and inviting friends to the group. I will hopefully watch the number of members keep growing.
We are always open to suggestions. Spreading the video is one avenue which is relatively inexpensive and could be successful in locating Savanah. Better still she will see it herself and can send Steve a message through the website 'Contact Us' page even if she isn't allowed her own e-mail account.
As far as anything else you can do. The only limit is your imagination. Don't wait for direction, just think of something. Some folks have been contacting newspapers, radio, TV. We just need one journalist to get interested in this story and that would be a big boost. If a lot of people keep writing to the editors and news desks, they might sit up and take notice.
I'm sure there are lots of other possibilities, just have a brainstorm about it.

Why not just throw some ideas out for us anyway?
Remember that finance is limited, the legal system is heavily biased against fathers in the UK and Australia is 9,000 miles away from us.
As well as the website and group, I have personally tried contacting newspapers and TV stations to see if they want to pick up the story. No luck so far, but will keep trying.
If you would like to get involved, you would be welcome and if you have any ideas that you think would be of benefit, then let us know.

I'm sure you have all seen these kind of figures before but here it is again:-
If each person taking part in Find Savanah Friday gets 10 people to join the group, that will make an extra 14,000 members.
If each of those also gets 10 people to join, 140,000
If each of those gets 10 people to join, 1,400,000
It is possible. So don't just invite, encourage the people you invite to invite more too.
The group started with just one. That was little old me. Now it has 6,500 members. That is what one person who believes they can make a difference can achieve.
Everyone, BELIEVE you can make a difference.

Please, if you have not done so already, keep inviting people to join this group so that Steve's video can spread. Our main aim is to spread the video and web address as widely as possible so that one day Savanah will see it and receive her father's message of love.
I personally think that Steve's video is even more important and powerful than that. It can help raise public consciousness and get a strong message out there that what Savanah's mother has done is very wrong. The more it is seen, the less likely it is that another mother makes the same sorry decision. Sadly, Steve is by no means alone in his plight. But I think the brilliant video that Steve has made has the power to get this message heard across the world.

I will keep you informed and hope to be building up the website as soon as Steve gets more content to me. The best thing we can do to help is keep spreading Steve's message by inviting friends to this group, posting the video on Funwall and Superwall or sending the web address to friends not on Facebook via e-mail.
If the message keeps spreading, Savanah will one day see it. Last time I checked, the video has been watched about 75,000 times. Even if Savanah isn't allowed her own e-mail account, she can still get a message to her dad through the website.

Thanks for your view, one with which I agree and which echoes that of Leigh below. Society has for a long time considered a mother's love as somehow more important than a father's and the law is strongly biased because of this.

Thanks for your view. Have you considered the possibility that the mother might just be selfish? My children's mother prevents them from seeing me on regular occasions and her reasons are always entirely selfish. Not all mothers behave in the ideal way which you imply.
I have been in touch with Steve Moseley who made the video and am pretty sure that he is genuine and that there are not any of the serious reasons which you suggest there may be. The mother wanted to live in Australia with her new partner. She put her own needs before her daughter's. That is it. We hope to be detailing the court case on the website soon so that you can see for yourself.
Even if there had been any problems, it is still Savanah's choice and not her mother's whether she wants to stay in touch with her father or not.
