Henry Haney Jr.

Henry Haney Jr. Today, I've uploaded a cover/tribute to the late vocalist Carl Anderson entitled "You're the Reason". I hope you enjoy it- it's available on the music player currently. This track will not appear on the upcoming album, but I thought I'd share as a gift to you.

Very cool...I like that sound for your clean tone. Do I hear a hint of a sitar-like effect?

Dennis, ( Grace's husband ) plays bass with some friends he's had since H.S., they jam every week. Isaiah 4, and Elijah 3, both try to play the guitars, the full adult drum set they have in their room (: and the piano. I wonder when they could start really learning ?

Henry Haney Jr. In this video, Henry encourages guitarists to employ all of the tools in their arsenal. Rather than falling in love with any one technique, we should employ all of them tastefully (hammer-ons, pull-offs, bends, harmonics, tapping, etc.)

Dude, you inspired me to get back into the practice habit. I'd been fairly consistent up until we had a revival. Then I was so burnt out from constant playing every single night that I had a hard time making anything sound good. (Read "Burnout" in my notes). I did my warm up on the 3 and 4 note exercises for speed. I'm getting faster, picking each note. But to cover more of the neck, I still employ a lot of the hammers, pulls and slides to kind of "fake it".

As I practiced, I began putting together a fusion-style version of "Hark The Herald Angels Sing", and goofingly made it a medley with "O Christmas Tree", all in G. Sounded cool to me.

I'm getting there, Henry. I am making a concerted effort to practice my speed drills. This is really helpful. When I finally make it up your way, maybe we can have some fun with speed picking VegieTales classics like "God is Bigger than the Boogieman"! LOL!
