Herrin Twins update: Kendra doesn't need oxygen during the day anymore. Which is great news. She will be IV antiobotics for 6 weeks. She is about to set-up on her own. Overall she is doing really well. Thanks for the prayers. Maliyah's back infection looks really good for right now. We will see the doctor again this week.
Herrin Twins Merry Christmas everyone!! Kendra is coming home from the hospital today!!! She will need a lot of care, but we are sooooooooo excited! Santa came to the hospital and to the kids at home. It was a great morning!
Herrin Twins Anyone know how to make the hospital feel more like Christmas? We have a 3ft tree that will be coming and her stocking is coming up also. Any other idea? This is our first Christmas here. Santa will be coming to the hospital and the kids will be here with her tomorrow. What else can you think of?
Herrin Twins They are going to try and transferr Kendra back to the floor(medical floor) today. We will see how that goes. She crashed yesterday after surgery, so that is why they took her back to the PICU. She is doing better today and did great all night. The staff was to worried to give her a PICC, so its a broviac this time.... I have taken care of those before so not worried. read more below
Herrin Twins Kendra is back in the ICU again. Hopefully she gets out tomorrow and she can come home soon.
Herrin Twins Kendra was transferred to the ICU last night because they were worried about her blood pressure, but it seems to be back to normal this morning. She's going in to surgery so they can clean out the infection again and place a PICC line, then she will be transferred back to a normal room. There's still hope to be able ...to be home tomorrow, as long as there are no major set backs.
Herrin Twins update on Maliyah: she is doing really good. No surgery this week for her.
Herrin Twins Kendra is septic. They are taking her for a EKG because they also found a heart murmur. She has low blood pressure so they are bolusing her with more fluid. Its up in the air weather they are going to be taking her to the ICU soon or not. Prayers are needed!! Thanks
Herrin Twins Its 10pm and Kendra is in the operating room. She has a VERY BAD infection. PLEASE PRAY FOR HER!!
Herrin Twins Kendra is throwing up blood and Maliyah has another infection in her back. Not sure if Maliyah is heading back to the OR today or not. I will try and keep updating. I am just really busy. Prayers needed!!
Herrin Twins Please say a prayer for Kendra and Maliyah. They are both very sick and we REALLY don't want to spend Christmas in the hospital.
Herrin Twins just got a call from my mom that my grandma was taking to the hospital by ambulance. She may of had a heart attack. Please say a prayer for her.
Herrin Twins Maliyah is back at school today. I really hope she will do ok. She was really bored staying home.
