The video footage is of CSC's Plasma Tube, located in the Energy Ave exhibit area downstairs.
Einstein believed that "the light we see is nothing more than a disturbance in an existing medium."
The plasma tube is filled with the gas Xenon. When an electric field is applied to both ends of the glass tube, the atoms of Xenon become excited. A change... Read More in electrons produces a wave in the "existing medium," and we see this wave as light. When visitors touch the tube they alter the electric field, attracting the unstable gas molecules.
