Finally, the season is at a close and the Hinckley boys can look forward to a well deserved rest, safe in the knowledge that we will be plying our trade again next year in the re-jigged premiere Midlands division...

It was always going to be a tough ask against the League Champions, however after 20 mins Hinckley were ahead after a Keeling try and conversion. This was just about the last time Hinckley saw the ball as the best side in the league set about a try feast to the glee of the watching home spectators...

The Colts steamed through to the final where they met old adversaries Melton. Melton got off to a flying start and went 17-0 up. This was the first time Hinckley had been behind all tournament, however such is the nature of the beast these scores can be quickly turned around...

It would be rather remiss of me not to publicly acknowledge my old school, JCC’s fine achievement in winning at Twickenham recently, well done again boys. Indeed some thirteen seasons ago I was the proud captain to lift the very same trophy...

Newport were strong last Saturday, despite us leading 10-3 early in the game; a baron 20minute capitulation period either side of half time, hurt and ultimately cost us, writes Rob Dignum...

Saturday saw Hinckley face Moseley Academy for a place in the last four of the National Colts cup. We had focussed on not giving away penalties in training as we have been guilty of giving away far too many in previous rounds, and against quality opposition you will be made to pay...

It was a rather lack lustre Colts side that narrowly lost their County cup semi final away at Melton 10-8. On a sunny afternoon when everywhere else in Leicestershire it was no surprise when we were greeted by what can only be described as the Melton breeze...

Local derby cup games are usually tense, tight affairs but after a spirited 30 mins this game was over. 6 tries to 2 with Keeling kicking all conversions meant a March 24th meeting in the final against South Leicester was the only outcome.

Often when I first wake and come to, it takes a few moments to acclimatise, usually with me wondering what my name is, what day it is and what lies ahead… no such feeling last Saturday though; I woke at 7am like an excited child with cup fever knowing exactly what day it was...

Newport were due to visit Leicester Road on Saturday and for a second time the match was postponed due to inclement weather. Shame, as I have no doubt we will beat them and reap revenge for their freak thrashing of us at their place… we will just have to wait...
