Michael Fallert I am trying to do on-line research on Salem's three historic courthouses, especially the red Gothic Revival in the middle, and would appreciate any appropriate links. Thank you.

Our website has some information. http://www.historicsalem.org/preservation/topPriority/courthouse.htm . Also Bryant Tolles' book "Architecture in Salem" is on line through Google books. The courthouses are discussed beginning on page 119. Good luck with your research. Can I ask what the purpose is?

Thanks for your response. My purpose is merely personal curiousity - I am an amateur architecture freak who moved into the neighborhood a few months ago - but if I assemble some material that is not currently available in one place, I might put it on-line. I cannot, BTW, find a complete, free copy of Bryant Tolles on-line. I will try the library, ... See Morebut if you have a link, I would appreciate it. I have found enough material to learn that the red building in the middle is considered Romanesque, not Gothic, style.

Ginny I was suppose to be at Winter St. at my friends Jeanne's house for the Xmas tour but I will be in Hawaii helping my daugher in law with the new baby. I want to mention that I did the trolley a few years ago at Xmas time (Scrooge) and it was fantastic. I recommend it to everyone.
