My sons only have been in public schools for 2.5 months and i have taken 8 whole hours of an "Introduction to Teaching" course. here is our experience: Focus is on finding multiple ways to assess learning - through hw and tests and quizzes, yes, but also through partnered projects, webbased projects, small group work, large group work, havin g kidd s present and teach lessons etc. etc.

We said onesie, twosie, brick, halfbrick, longjong, foot, plates (of various sizes). My kids don't lego much, but as kids we played a lot and didn't have all the crazy pieces in the article.
