Hodac, Inc. Donna Glenn of Addressing Rooms has volunteered to decorate the Gateway Cottage media/playroom and turn a small-unused room into a library/computer center. Since Hodac’s Gateway Cottage is about making a life transformation, this decorating project has been named, "The Butterfly Project". The Butterfly Project wants ...to give the Gateway Cottage a fresh, new change just as the residents of the center are giving themselves. The Butterfly Project is an enhancement of the tremendous efforts of the Warner Robins Chamber Leadership Class. Donna Glenn of Addressing Rooms will decorate and repurpose the common areas of the Gateway Cottage facility. These areas include the media/playroom and a previously unused space, to be turned into a library and study area.
“Many people want to do something to help their community but just don't know how. Here's a chance now to make a difference in our community by helping on this project.” says Donna Glenn of Addressing Rooms.
The Gateway Cottage Residential Program provides a home for healing and hope for the future. It is a residential facility for homeless mothers in substance abuse recovery and their minor children. Participating mothers must be residents of Georgia who are drug-free and motivated to change so that their lives and the lives of their children will be better. The Gateway Cottage Residential program lasts between 12 and 24 months, with an average stay of 14 months. Family values are instilled and nurtured, and mothers are taught constructive life skills, social skills, parenting skills and relapse strategies. When a resident leaves the program, she will be better equipped to live independently and make positive life choices and decisions for herself and her children.
“Hodac depends on the community support, efforts such as the Butterfly Project generates. We continue to be thankful for those who endeavor to better the lives of those we serve everyday,” says Hodac Senior Marketing Specialist. “We know how very fortunate we are to have so many people who continue to support our organization year after year. And every year Hodac continues to reach out to our surrounding community, encouraging them to join us in our many efforts to better serve the Middle Georgia area.”
This project depends solely on monetary donations, in-kind donations, and volunteer laborers. Monetary donations will fund the supplies for the makeover 100%.
All Donations are Tax Deductible.

Hodac, Inc. On May 2nd Hodac's Victim Resource Center will host its Jeans for Justice event. The name Jeans For Justice comes from a grassroots campaign inspired by a 1999 case in Italian High Court in which a rape conviction was overturned because the victim was wearing jeans.

The court concluded,

“It is common knowledge…th...at jeans cannot even be partly removed without the effective help of the person wearing them…and it is impossible if the victim is struggling with all her might.”
Following the ruling, a group of female Italian lawmakers wore jeans to parliament. This action prompted women all over Italy to join in a “skirt strike” and wear jeans.
Protests have now gone global and are currently taking place today in the form of “Jeans for Justice”
The event will include a jean fashion show, entertainment, refreshments, and more.
