Trenton Farmers' Market Check out Utica's new Foodshed Buying Club at this link. You'll be able order local foods (Winters Grass Farm and Ferris Farm meats, Maple Hill Creamery dairy and eggs) for pickup at The Other Side in Utica (across from the Uptown Theater). They're also hosting a showing of "Fresh" (the movie) Friday Dec. 4

Trenton Farmers' Market We had a great harvest potluck dinner at Unity Hall on Sunday, with the additional participation of the Kuyahoora Valley farmers' market (Poland) and Slow Food. I just wish I had made a point of asking everyone to introduce their dishes, because there were so many delicious ones.

This Sunday we are celebrating New York State Potatoes at Schenectady Greenmarket! Come sample the wide variety of potatoes developed and grown by local farmers. Pick up some different varieties to take home and compare. Local chef, Marc Renson, will demonstrate ways to cook with potatoes.

Here are some spy photos from today's Union Square Greenmarket in NYC, where we could have bought every color of carrot. potato, or radish; sunflower and pea "greens" (sprouts); garlic chive, squash, pea and nasturtium blossoms; and every part of a merino lamb, from yarn to bacon (! - with no nitrites/nitrates).
Of co...urse, mesclun (salad mix) was going for $12 a quarter pound, and ground lamb $11 a pound.
