Holly A Harvey My publisher, Discovered Authors, now has a presence on Facebook, if anyone's interested. I was surprised to be sent a Friend Request, given our history and have yet to decide whether to accept it. Apparently, they are considering relaunching their hunt
As you know, I've had numerous reasons (excuses) for not writing, my weighty laptop being one of them. However, courtesy of Santa, I now have a little netbook that weighs less than a bag of sugar. I hope that, in 2009, I will have both the energy and motivation to finish a few of the ideas I've had...

I'm so glad you enjoyed the book, but even more pleased that you're going to start writing again. NaNoWriMo is a great motivator and, if you do decide to give it a try, my name on there is HAHarvey (if you wish to add me as a buddy).
Holly A Harvey I am about to begin work on my second novel, Look Who's Stalking. It's a bit of a whodunnit (and a whodunwhat), set in the North East. I'm looking for ideas for the name of a drag act that has a part in the book. Any ideas?
Holly A Harvey My book has been put in for the Portico Award, a biennial award for books that are set in the North of England. I don't stand a snowball in hell's chance, as Karma isn't the type of book that judges enjoy, but I don't mind. Just nice to be considered.
Holly A Harvey Abseil completed. Write up will appear on my website shortly...along with footage of me falling off the bridge (an adventure, but I wouldn't recommend it).
I was trying to work out what I'd gained from the publication of my book (let's forget about all the great people and interesting experiences for now). I mean things that you can measure. I did win a prize, but that was prior to publication, so doesn't count...
Those of you who read the Blog on my website will already know this, but I got my first rejection today. Was hoping for an email saying I'd won one of the many competitions I've been entering, but it was a thanks-but-no-thanks email from The Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency...
I had a fantastic evening with the Rowlands Gill group - they were really friendly, and didn't seem to mind my waffling! Boy, can I waffle. I hate talking about myself, but it's much easier to relax when the group are nice and ask plenty of questions...

If you read my website, you'll know that I'm having a bit of a confidence issue, not just with the book, but with myself. I've read that Karma has a number of flaws, but I am not a professional writer, and have not had the benefit of an editor to point things out and make them better...
