Holly A Harvey Just checked in here for the first time in ages (oops), and it's lovely to hear from you, Jo. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book, but even more pleased that you're going to start writing again. NaNoWriMo is a great motivator and, if you do decide to give it a try, my name on there is HAHarvey (if you wish to add me as a buddy).

Holly A Harvey I am about to begin work on my second novel, Look Who's Stalking. It's a bit of a whodunnit (and a whodunwhat), set in the North East. I'm looking for ideas for the name of a drag act that has a part in the book. Any ideas?

Holly A Harvey My book has been put in for the Portico Award, a biennial award for books that are set in the North of England. I don't stand a snowball in hell's chance, as Karma isn't the type of book that judges enjoy, but I don't mind. Just nice to be considered.

Holly A Harvey Abseil completed. Write up will appear on my website shortly...along with footage of me falling off the bridge (an adventure, but I wouldn't recommend it).

Hi Dawn! I have nothing planned at the moment with regard to any further book signings, although I have been told that my publishers have some big plans in the pipeline.
I haven't been to Kent since I was a teenager, but we spent some lovely summers there. I'll keep you posted if anything changes.

Thanks - it's nice to hear that! I also enjoy Mike Gayle's books. He is very sweet, as he took the time to email me before my book came out (if a writer I like has a 'contact me' link on their website, that's exactly what I do. Most do reply.). Matt Dunn's quite amusing too - I really enjoyed 'From Here To Paternity'.
To answer your question, without including the five year long gap between chapter one and the remainder of the book (!), it took about six weeks to complete.

Holly A Harvey My publisher, Discovered Authors, now has a presence on Facebook, if anyone's interested. I was surprised to be sent a Friend Request, given our history and have yet to decide whether to accept it. Apparently, they are considering relaunching their hunt for Undiscovered Authors...
