Hitchcock Nature Center annouces our 2nd annual Winter Wreath Sale. These beautiful 24" Scotch Pine wreaths are available in 2 designs. Our original wreath will feature a red bow & pine cones for $25.00 each and the outdoor recreation wreath will also include recreation ornaments for $35.00 each. Hitchcock Nature Center Join us for our Enchanted Forest event this Sunday, October 25th. Wear your costumes and bring little ones for a whimsical Alice in Wonderland themed trail at Hitchcock. This event will include pumpkin painting and carving, modern day apple bobbing, and refreshments. Please meet at the Trailhead. Cost: $5.00 per family. Weather permitting.

Hitchcock Nature Center invites you to participate in an Outdoor Play Adult & Child Workshop. Do you want to spend more quality time with your kids outdoors? If so, the MORE Nature Adult/Child Workshops are for you! Join us on Saturday, Oct. 10th from 1-2:30 p.m. Adults and children 3 years of age and older are invited to this fun and educational workshop. There is no fee, but participants are asked to pre-register by Oct. 2nd.

How in the world do you tag a butterfly? Find out at our annual Monarch Tagging event at Hitchcock Nature Center. Discover more about monarch butterflies, their unusual lifestyle and life cycle, and miraculous migration to Mexico. Learn how to catch and handle monarchs, determine gender, and properly tag them in the wi...ld as part of a national research project. All monarchs will be releases after they are tagged.
Bring a butterfly net if you have one, or share a park net if you don't. Tags and refreshments provided. Pre-registration is required. Cost for pre-registered individuals: $4.00 per adult & $3.00 per child ages 6-18. Children 5 and under admitted free. Cost day of event: $6.00 per person, if space is available.
