Join us this Saturday, January 17 for our first Uptown Swing Dance of 2009! Our featured band this month is Sax Gordon and the Little Town Rockers. It might be cold outside, but these guys are hot! If you have never heard them before, come check them out. "Sax" Gordon plays around the world with some of the most amazing musicians and he knows how to keep the dance floor energized. Their music is always fun and full of surprises. Come on out - you will be glad you did!
The atmosphere at the dance is fun and friendly and beginners are very welcome. You do not need to come with a partner. Brookline Tai Chi is a beautiful space with a smooth wood floor and a convenient location on Beacon Street in Brookline. Those taking the T, it is directly across from the Washington Square stop on the Green Line. If you come early for dinner or a drink, there are plenty of places nearby and a nice cafe is right next door. Street parking is free after 6:00pm.

The wait is over. Be prepared for a phenomenal weekend of workshops with Skye and Naomi! Classes are scheduled for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 5-7 in Newton Lower Falls. Join fellow dancers from 7 states. There are classes for all levels including beginners.
It will be possible to register at the workshops if space permits. There is currently space in all of the classes for leaders, however classes D and E are now closed for followers and F is likely to close as well.
Leaders are needed in most of the classes, especially D, E and F. Leaders, don't miss this great opportunity to take classes with Skye! He is one of the most sought after and emulated male leads in the Lindy Hop world today.

Information is now up for our next 6 week session of Lindy Hop and Balboa classes, the first session of 2009! There are classes for all levels including Beginner Swing/Intro to Lindy Hop Level 1, Lindy Hop Level 2 and Lindy Hop Level 3. Plus for Balboa enthusiasts, a new Intermediate Balboa class.
All classes are on Sunday evenings and held at the Lower Falls Community Center in Newton Lower Falls. Full information, on-line registration and directions are available at:

Only one month away until the Skye Humphries and Naomi Uyama workshops on December 5-7. The early registration discount date on November 5 is this Wednesday! Register ASAP to get the best prices for these fabulous workshops! To register, please submit an online form if possible, although sending a registration slip by mail is fine as well. Payment must be received for the registration to be complete. Options include making your payment online by credit card using PayPal or by sending a check in the mail postmarked by November 5.
Also included during the weekend will be our monthly Uptown Swing Dance in Brookline featuring the very fabulous Gordon Webster Quartet. Be prepared for an awesome weekend!
