I may be hated for this but here goes. I mean no disrespect for my brothers and sisters surviving Darfur. And I pray for Darfur and fasting for those persecuted is an easy sacrifice. But for former Sen Frist, have you stood up for those in this country that have no health insurance? For those who are homeless? For those outside the GOP party lines... Read More? I can't even go to a doctor because I have no health insurance. I work with the homeless daily whose only hope to go somewhere other than the ER is SSI, which some are denied. Right now I am working with a homeless friend with AIDS who can't get disability and we have to make 2 days of trips to get his meds. So can you fast for hope that President Obama can make health care a reality for all Americans, Mr. Frist?

Obviously, you do not know DR. Frist. He has flown (he's a pilot) to many countries while doing gov't work and replace/repaired many a heart, as he is a heart surgeon. On his own dime, by the way. Using our monies wisely.
Dr. Frist and his family has also donated to Nashville it's first 1st class ART MUSUEm that gives free everything to children, provides a center for ART in a very high order, and is a fabulous person.
If I were to trust anyone in gov't it would be #1 DR. Frist..

If someone knows the medical industry, the gov't, can fly a piece of huge metal in the sky and have a clean conscience it is DR. Frist.
I know we hear lots about what goes wrong in these worldly places, but when we thing BIG PICTURE these conditions in the world somehow come back to our soil.

Very well said, Kathryn. If Bill Frist were emulated by more politicians (as well as more people), the world would no doubt be a better place.

I agree there needs to be a combined approached of all Countries to help the underdeveloped ones..however, we here in the US are experiencing a health crisis of our own. We have citizens who are not covered for what ever reason. Part of the Health caresystem needs to be redone. It is important that we take care of American's first.

Mr. Frist, the article spoke to two hearts in the reader. The giver and the receiver. The systemic approach to addressing global health can be accomplished by both those hearts once the level of global awareness is attained. That, being no small feat, can in my opinion be accomplished with the perseverance of spreading the word of this work at every, single opportunity. So, keep on keeping on, my friend. Job well done.
