Houston Police Department The "Safe Shopping Starts With You" campaign, five area grocery retailers (H-E-B, Kroger, Randalls, Fiesta and WalMart) partnered with the HPD to form the Greater Houston Loss Prevention Alliance aimed at reducing property crimes, keeping shoppers safer and lessening their chances of becoming victims.

Houston Police Department Rush hour commuters and fans attending tonight’s Texans' game at Reliant Stadium are encouraged to avoid traveling on South Main Street (Highway 90) where workers are cleaning up a train derailment near Stella Link that forced closure of all north and southbound lanes on South Main. All northbound lanes on South Main j...ust reopened a short time ago. However, all southbound lanes on South Main remain closed from Stella Link to South Post Oak Road. Houston police officers on the scene are being told only two of four southbound (outbound) lanes are likely to be reopened sometime in the 4 o’clock hour. As a result, HPD encourages motorists to not travel on Highway 90 south to get home or to the football game, and instead use Highways 288 and 59 South to the 610 South Loop.

Houston Police Department Good morning HPD FB Fans. We have a special slide show for you this morning. The National Down Syndrome Society held its annual Buddy Walk last Saturday at Jones Plaza. The walk was established in 1995 and is the society’s largest fundraiser. The kids loved seeing us there just as much as we loved being there.
