The Michael & Susan Dell Center for Advancement of Healthy Living is looking for SPH students to assist with collecting data for the Texas‐Childhood Obesity Prevention Policy Evaluation (T‐COPPE) Project during the months of May and June 2009.
Job duties:
•
Administer health, nutrition, and physical activity behavior questionnaires to 4th grade students across Texas
•
Observe elementary school cafeteria environments
•
Collect data on student transport patterns
•
Record observation data and completing data collection forms
•
Follow measurement protocols as trained by project managers in order to obtain reliable and accurate data
•
Attend survey administration, school observation, and data collector training session prior to working in the field (late April, early May 2009)

The positions are available for students enrolled at the all of the UT SPH campuses. The position will begin May 1st and continue through the first or second week of June. Students will be paid a fixed rate for each school they collect data at, and will be reimbursed for mileage. Reliable transportation is required, and all work conducted will be no more than a day trip from their home base.
Qualifications:
Prefer candidate enrolled in MPH or Certificate in Public Health program. Must be available Tuesday through Thursday to collect data at schools. Certification on the protection of human research participants must be completed and submitted within 5 days of effective date of employment.
