The 'build' Academy at Lockwood hosted a special celebration event on
Monday 26th October where the Leader of Kirklees Council, Cllr Mehboob
Khan, presented two groups of successful trainees with their
certificates.

Two 'build' brickwork trainees have secured jobs with Bermar Building Company as part of Kirklees Council's Lockwood Renaissance project.
The previously unemployed trainees have just gained distinctions
in their Level 1 bricklaying qualification and will be following a
Level 2 course at 'build's Lockwood Academy on day-...release from their
new employer.

A team of 'build' trainees are on a short course in drystone walling and have renovated a local street in Honley at the same time!
The trainees will gain a LANTRA level 1 qualification from the short project organised by 'build' in conjunction with the Local Area Committee, Yorkshire Electricity and Kirklees Countrysid...e Rangers. See below for more:

People who live in Kirklees could apply to join a 6 week (2 days per week) training opportunity in Joinery leading to an ONCW Preparation for Employment qualification. The free course will take place at our Batley academy commencing mid July. People who complete the course successfully may qualify to... go on to a Diploma 1 Joinery programme at college. 'build trainees have successfully completed their health and safety, first aid and manual handling training as part of a new painting and decorating course run at 'build's Lockwood academy. They have been presented with their certificates by Cllr Christine Stanfield, Kirklees Council C...abinet Member with regeneration portfolio, at an award ceremony on Thursday 21 May.
