Hungry for Music

Began as a homeless benefit concert with street musicians and other local DC talent in 1992.

Became a 501 (c)(3) with the purpose of supporting music education and bring the positive qualities of music to others in March 1994.

Have brought concerts to homeless shelters, hospitals, schools, and retirement homes and sponsored various music workshop for children.

Over the last 10 years has focused more on providing musical instruments to underprivileged children, both in the inner cities and rural areas; not only in the DC metropolitan area, but nationally and internationally.

Hungry for Music's (HFM) niche is providing musical instruments to parents who cannot afford to purchase or rent an instrument for their child. HFM also provides under-funded school, after-school, and church programs with musical instruments, as well as supporting other arts-related non-profit organizations.
