“Halloween Hoopla” Factoids:
The published overall event time is 1:00 p.m. until Midnight with parts/areas of the Hoopla closing earlier.
“Pumpkin Route”
Luminaries will line a route from The Lumberyard to Maple Hill Cemetery and back.
Three 16-foot trailers will facilitate running Haunted Hayrides fifteen minutes apart. Haunted Hayrides will begin at 1:00 p.m. and there will be a driver and a controller in the wagon. Riders will be wrist-banded and encouraged to get off and on in order to enjoy Maple Hill Cemetery, the neighborhood, and the Historic Huntsville Depot.
From 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., our “Ghost Walk”—a guided tour through the cemetery—will be hosted by Dave Brotherton of Earthscope.
Hayrides will not be going directly into Maple Hill Cemetery. Although Cemetery Tours will be closing after 3:30 p.m., Haunted Hayrides will continue until 8:00 p.m.
A decorated trolley, festooned by the Art Krewe, will use the same route in support of the Haunted Hayrides for those that don’t want to wait for the next trailer to get back to The Lumberyard. The Hoopla Trolley will run from 1:00 p.m. until Midnight.
Following their costume contests, our Children’s (2:00 p.m.) and Adult Bike Rides (6:00 p.m.) will also use that route as part of their ride. These rides are organized by the Spring City Cycling Club.
The Lumberyard
The Haunted House will now be monitored by 3 off-duty firemen, courtesy of the Huntsville Fire Department, in order to guarantee the highest level of safety for our guests. The Haunted House will run from 1:00 p.m. – Midnight.
