Huntsville Animal Shelter This will be updated as the fencing project continues.

Huntsville Animal Shelter

Huntsville Animal Shelter is hoping everyone is having a great day today.

Huntsville Animal Shelter

Huntsville Animal Shelter is thankful that animals can't catch the H1N1 flu. They can get other things though so make sure you get them looked as soon as they are out of character. Better to be safe then sorry. ♥

Huntsville Animal Shelter is hoping everyone had a safe Halloween and that all your pets are home safe and accounted for. Happy November 1st!!!

Huntsville Animal Shelter

Huntsville Animal Shelter is wishing everyone a Happy Hallowe'en. Be safe and keep your pets safe too. **A good way to keep them from escaping the house when all the trick-or-treaters come and go from your door is to put them in a room or basement until all the commotion is over. It is not being mean just being cautious. It will be less stress for pets and their owners should they go missing.

I am so glad you posted this. Many pet owners DO NOT realise the stress it causes the animals. Prevent an accident and follow the above instructions.

Huntsville Animal Shelter is hoping someone will see "Willa"(our profile picture) at PetValu and want to make her a part of their family. If you are interested go and see her and then come to the shelter or call for more information about her. She would love a nice warm home and a family to love her.

Willa has been with us at the shelter for a couple of months. She is a lovely girl with a great personality. She needs to be spayed but has had all her shots, including rabies as well as deworming and flea treatment.

I was informed on Tuesday that Willa is more or less adopted...I looked at two sisters at the shelter...but no one bothered to inform me I needed to fill out adoption papers! all that was asked was my name and telephone numbers...so I gave them...and then I find out today...someone lost the piece of paper....I will be dropping off the adoption application next time I am in Huntsville...which is Saturday

Lets hope they are ok and that they will be reunited with there families very soon. Angel pets are watching over them for sure!!!

***This was an email we received and we thought we would share it with all of our wonderful, supportive fans. This struck home and touched our hearts with our shelter staff and members because we are a NO-KILL shelter...

Huntsville Animal Shelter
We were glad to share it with you.
The financial and emotional commitment to an animal is something to be well thought out when thinking of owning one. They are looking for "forever homes".
The price of a dog, or any animal from a shelter is very reasonable if one really thinks about it. They recieve vet check ups, needles, deworming, defleaing, ... Read Moreand spaying/neutering. So to pay $190, at our shelter, for a dog is great. So next time someone offers you a free puppy remember all the costs involved and maybe you will be able to afford a nice shelter animal. (This is not a directed statement, it is generally speaking)

Huntsville Animal Shelter is glad to hear that everyone made it out of the Empire building safely after the fire the other night. NO animals were brought to us but any that were saved at the time were taken to a local vet. All animals that were taken there have been claimed by their owners. Lets hope there are still more to be saved and for those animals that were lost that night, we just want everyone to know how sorry we are.
